adult Volunteer Camp
October 24 -26

FWDC is going to camp! October 24-26th FWDC will be taking over the beautiful Noble Champion Sport Horses facility, in Cedar Hill, TX for our annual Adult Camp.

Back by popular demand, our guest clinician this year is Bill McMullin. Bill is a USEF 'R' Dressage judge, a USDF Gold Medalist, and a USDF Certified Instructor and Faculty member. He works with horses and riders from Training level to Grand Prix. Camp offers individual rides Friday and Saturday with group rides scheduled on Sunday. Camp is limited to eight riders, and you must commit to ride all three days. Activities include dinner Friday night, an educational demonstration Saturday, and dinner and Q&A with Bill Saturday night.
Read Gendler with North Haven Equestrian will be our quest lecturer over lunch on Saturday. Read will be sharing the benefits of pilates for the dressage rider.

Sign ups to ride are open to FWDC members who have volunteered at club functions during the past year. Cost is $450 and includes three rides, one stall with 2 bags of shavings and lunches. Extra shavings are available from Noble Champion for $8 a bag. Sign up to ride by clicking the link below. If more than eight registrations are received, participation will be determined by lottery. Cavaletti  & Long-Lining Clinic
November 15, 2025

Save the date for what promises to be a wonderful clinic with two incredible local trainers held at the beautiful Wild Oaks Ranch in Paradise, TX.

Cavaletti Clinic with Sarah Fulton-Smith
Sarah introduces cavaletti as a gymnastic tool to incorporate into your dressage program whether you are a beginner or an upper level rider. We will cover everything from the basics of spacing and heights to introducing cavaletti to a horse for the first time and advanced exercises to improve test movements.
Sarah is an FEI rider, trainer, and instructor. She is also a breeder of dressage horses and is passionate about the gradual and correct development of our equine athletes utilizing many types of cross training to build a healthy mind, body, and relationship between horse and rider, such as groundwork, liberty work, long lining, trail riding, jumping, and cavaletti.

Long-Lining Clinic with Anthony Schmitz
Training/Instruction in the true Classical Principles of Dressage. Anthony Schmitz, Bereiter, has 40 years experience riding, training, instructing and showing through
FEI. Being originally from the Netherlands, he has extensive training by some of the Masters in Europe. He utilizes the longe line, long-lines, cavalletti, trail outings and arena riding to develop the correct musculature of each horse. Using the bio-
mechanical movements of the horse riding patterns and exercises to teach the horse to go forward. This type of riding releases endorphins that bring pleasure to the horse while he gains strength and great confidence in himself. He teaches his students in much the same way through using exercises that develop core muscles, strong legs, an effective seat, correct timing and application of the aids and learning to ride with soft rein contact. Anthony is a compassionate, energetic, enthusiastic and
effective teacher whose goal is simply to pass on all that he has learned and to watch his students and their horses progress to meet their goals and go on to surpass them.
