As stated in Article II of the By-Laws of the Fort Worth Dressage Club (FWDC), the purpose of the club is to promote dressage in Fort Worth and the surrounding area. The Club has established a scholarship program to assist amateur, professional and junior younger members who wish to further their riding careers through educational opportunities.

Qualified scholarship applications are accepted by the Scholarship Committee  October 15 through November 30 of each year, and awarded during that month.

Process:

• Eligibility will be limited to once every 2 years
• Awards will be $500 to each qualified applicant, as long as the Scholarship monetary balance does not fall below $3,000
• Eligible Members may apply annually
• Qualifications will be determined by a panel made up of either the Scholarship Committee or Board Members. Preference given to all eligible recipients, including past recipients who meet all requirements for a scholarship, including submitting a testimonial of some kind (written, Website posting, video, social media, ect.) describing how scholarship monies were used.
• Scholarship Awards will be distributed at the Annual Awards Banquet
• Proceeds for the Scholarship Fund will be through Silent Auctions or other fundraising activities the Board of Directors deems necessary
• Annual determination of the number/threshold of accepted scholarship applications will be based on availability of funds to be limited to the first 3 qualified persons applying annually
• The Scholarship Committee or Board of Directors has the right to limit the number of scholarships awarded based on financial concerns

Qualification:

• Have to be a FWDC member in good standing
• Complete Scholarship application on the FWDC web, including your signature attesting to your qualifications
• Applications will be accepted October 15 through November 30 each year, and time stamped with the first applicants being received in order until threshold met
• Submit written verification of hours volunteered through Wild Apricot or sent directly to the Scholarship Committee
• Within 6 months of using a Scholarship Award, the recipient must do the following or be ineligible for a period of 3 years for any further scholarships from FWDC
• Submit a testimonial video, letter, website posting (Facebook or other media showing riding or your other use of monies), written testimonial, or come in person to the Awards Banquet or FWDC meeting to describe how you used the money awarded

• Sponsor an approved FWDC activity, either educational or social
• Donations through sponsorship of a show by hosting, monetary contributions to sponsor a class, and donation for a specific FWDC approved cause of over $50
• Participating in at least 4 hours of combined volunteer hours of work for an approved FWDC activity (i.e., setting up arenas, picking up a judge from the airport host—must verify from Scholarship Committee member or Board member for approved Club)
